Brazing is a metal-joining technique that joins components together by heating up the substrate and flowing a filler material into the joint. Brazing differs from welding since it does not involve melting the workpieces. Brazing can be used to join two pieces made of different metals or to join metals that do not weld easily. Filler metals can be customized for the joint type or component application. Self-fluxing alloys can be used. We typically use brazing on cast iron components, since traditional welding is not possible, to correct broken or eroded sections.
